The Packexe SMASH glass management System was used at the recent 'Hands on Training' for firemen as part of the Fire Expo in Baltimore, US.

The Packexe SMASH team have built up awareness of the product through attending challenges and exhibitions all over the world and was recognized in Baltimore from their presence at the FDiC and Interschutz.

The 80 plus entrants on the training program were keen to try Packexe SMASH as part of their Glass Management processes in vehicle extrication at road side collisions.

The West Midlands team use Packexe SMASH in their challenge scenario at their West Midlands regional vehicle rescue event on March 6th 2010

Big news this month is that Packexe SMASH will be sponsoring 2 rescue challenges simultaneously on 6^th March - the Irish National Extrication Challenge in Sligo and the West Midlands Regional Challenge.

Packexe SMASH will be available for use in the challenge pits, giving all competitors the chance to use SMASH for their glass management. We will also be on hand for training opportunities throughout the day.

If you are attending either challenge please drop by the demonstration stand to learn about the technology behind Packexe SMASH.

February has seen us out on the road, visiting fire and rescue services up and down the country.

After discussions with various brigades we have set out to demonstrate the system, giving you some initial training and the chance to try Packexe SMASH first hand. The visits have allowed firefighters to put Packexe SMASH through its paces, showing great enthusiasm to trial it and suggesting ways the product can be used in line with current processes. It is great to receive such feedback and interest.

The visits have been a great success, with 4 fire and rescue services already using Packexe SMASH operationally and many regions in the final stages of evaluation

Packexe SMASH is in its second month of the 2010 Premier World Tour. The tour launched in January at the Intersec 2010 exhibition in Dubai. The show proved to be a huge success with interest from many countries across the world.

The Premier World Tour will take Packexe SMASH to the Irish National Rescue Challenge, the FDiC exhibition in the USA, Spanish National Extrication Challenge organised by APRAT, the European Extrication Challenge in Austria, the Interschutz exhibition in Germany, national challenges in Australia and North America and also the World Rescue Challenge in Ireland.

The Medic in our team commented that normally when he is in a vehicle he hates the glass breaking part because he gets some glass pieces in his overalls and sometimes no matter how much you cover the casualty you can still get some glass flying around, but with the Packexe on the glass he did not get any and he felt much safer as there was no glass flying around inside the vehicle.

Andrew Orchard packexe SMASH CEO is well on his way to Australia for the Australasian challenge in Melbourne on 23/07/10 to 27/07/10.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Extrication Team using Packexe SMASH at the South Wales Interstation Challenge
