Jason, a member of our Warehouse Team travelled to France a couple of weeks ago in a Packexe car. During his journey to Rouen, Jason looked in the rear view mirror and saw a Police car with flashing lights. Jason’s mind was going over time (am I speeding? am I on the wrong side of the road?) so he pulled over out of his way. However the Police car did not pass Jason, instead it pulled in behind him. The footage presents Bedfordshire Fire & Rescue Service using Packexe SMASH during an extrication at a road traffic collision. The footage clearly demonstrates that Packexe SMASH holds glass in place when vehicle doors are removed by hydraulic equipment. The two vehicle doors are placed on the side of the road, clearly showing Packexe SMASH.

It was great to see Bedfordshire Fire & Rescue using Packexe SMASH as they were the first UK Fire Service to take it operational.

Morrinsville Crash Rescue Team uses Packexe SMASH to hold the glass in place on one side of the vehicle and to safely remove glass as piece on the other side of the vehicle to gain access to the victim.

6th – 7th July, The Fire Service College, Moreton-In-Marsh, Gloucestershire, UK

Attending the Ambulex event provided us a great opportunity to talk to individuals from the UK Ambulance Service. The interest and feedback of Packexe SMASH was fantastic, it was great to hear that some Ambulance Services around the UK have seen the product in action with their local Fire and Rescue Service. We also found it a great opportunity to observe and receive updates of what is happening within this emergency service.

In addition to the actual event, the location was perfect for Packexe SMASH. Being at The Fire Service College in Moreton-In-Marsh, Gloucestershire gave us the opportunity to catch up with and talk to Fire Fighters around the world for example Dubai and Holland, who are currently on a course at the College.
